The composition of the cardboard is multicomponent, however, to be called a kraft liner, the percentage of secondary fibers in it must be minimal. In international practice, a kraft liner, 100% consisting of kraft pulp (obtained by the sulphate method), is also called a top liner. Kraft liner is a multilayer material. The number of layers varies from two to eight, depending on the capabilities of the cardboard machine. Most often produce a two-layer Kraft liner – the base brown layer consists of recycled fiber, and the outer layer, mainly from long-fibrous primary fibers. Kraft liner, as a rule, is used for the production of products and containers with increased requirements for mechanical parameters.
